Chicken Soup Will Help
Stage 4 lymphoma
trying not to feel
the terror and the horror
as I realize that’s real.
I wake up in the morning
forgetting what is true
and feeling my new balding head
while hair falls out anew.
Getting through each moment
treating what I can
Don’t focus on my feelings
Just hope and what I plan
to do all that I have to
to vanquish soon this foe
with guts and grit
I carry on –
